What did you do with your car this summer?
During September I sent the first edition of Mutterline the new format monthly newsletter for our customers. I thought it would be a good idea to get you to share your stories about what you did with your car this summer. I have been overwhelmed with responses and here is the first one. Please feel free to email your interesting car happening for us to share with our clients, who are after all enthusiasts just like you.
I look forward to reading your responses and stories.
Andy.
October 2011.
Hi Andy.
Many thanks for your email this week, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Thankfully my summer adventures were not as dramatic as the image you sent. So in response to your request I would like to share a bit of what my old truck got up to this summer. I hope this is the sort of article you are looking for and that you get many more from other clients.
Regards,
Chris.
THE OLD TRUCK HEADS SOUTH FOR THE SUMMER
Over the years my old 1993 Pajero has travelled widely, this summer it was The Atlas Mountains in Morocco, racing at Estoril International and then a memorable trip to Cabo Roca.
Once again proving that good maintenance, the ‘right garage’ and good quality parts pays big dividends, my old Pajero with 140,000 miles on the clock achieved another year of trouble free adventures in Southern Europe, the extent of repairs for several thousands of miles was a new headlight bulb.
With four people and enough gear for two weeks camping, the old truck climbed The Atlas Mountains, cruised the desert and then headed north to Portugal where it picked up a trailer, loaded a historic BMW race car and spent time as a support vehicle at several race meetings. Leaving Estoril one evening somebody mentioned that it was worth seeing Cabo Roca, a cape which forms the westernmost point of both mainland Portugal, mainland Europe the Eurasian Land Mass. Leaving the car and trailer at Estoril, we headed for Cabo Roca.
The shortest route was over the Sintra Hills via old donkey trails, it took us via some very scary sheer drops of hundreds of feet, 45 degree climbs and then it rained for the first time in months! As will slithered towards a particularly sheer drop to the Atlantic Ocean, my companion who drives the Race Car commented, ‘you know, I don’t think that this is really off road’, my response is unprintable!
Another summer having fun and enjoying the old truck, Chris enjoying the sun in Portugal.
